Care Callers

Care Callers are church members that are dedicated to ensuring that the needs and concerns of our church family are being heard and addressed. Care callers agree to sign up for one year and will do the following:

  • Each Care Caller is assigned to care for 10 church families
  • Each Care Caller will contact their assigned families once each quarter
  • Each Care Caller will maintain a strict confidence with each of their families in matters discussed
  • Each Care Caller will pray for the families on their list in between quarterly calls
  • Each Care Caller is to Pray for their families, be Available to their families, Contact their families and be a Christian Example. This is referred to as P.A.C.E.
  • Each Care Caller, IF requested, will pass on information to the pastoral staff for further follow-up.

As a church member, when a Care Caller contacts you, you will be asked three questions:

  1. How are you doing?
  2. Do you have any prayer requests to be passed on to the Prayer Ministry?
  3. Is there anything you would like to have passed on to the Pastor or the Deacons.

Care Callers are an important part of our overall church family experience. When you are called, thank your Care Caller for caring enough to be your Care Caller.

Long Term Prayer

The Long Term Prayer ministry is just that. A system of praying for our shut-ins and others that are in need of prayer over long periods of time. Member Joan Jones is leading this ministry. If you would like to participate contact Joan Jones through the church office at 787-8236.

Prayer Tree

The Prayer Tree is a means for many prayers to be given in behalf of anyone that requests prayer due to a crisis, medical need, or other. The membership of Southport Baptist Church is a praying congregation that provides a blanket of prayer for those in need.

The Prayer Tree is activated by calling the church office or member of the Prayer Team who will in turn contact many others to continue in prayer. Within minutes, many Christians will be praying for you and your expressed need.

The current leaders are: Wilma Ell at 787-4157; Lynn Raasch at 882-2737;  or the church office at 787-8236, fax 788-7873 or e-mail: spbc_office@sbcglobal.net
